“Sense Absense” at Neues Museum, Bremen Germany
“Sense Absense” (2004) is a collaborative installation between Composer Daniel Rothman, lighting artist Paul Tzanetopoulous, and myself. The piece was set to run for two months in fall 2004 at the Neues Museum, Bremen Germany, and funded in part by Radio Bremen. The patch I created in Max/MSP controls the ceiling-mounted LED components via MIDI and the playback / degradation of string quartet audio in four channels. Over the course of a week, sound is gradually removed and then replaced once again, so that in the middle of the week almost no sound can be heard, only light remains. View it here.
